SOS Children’s Villages Inetrnational წარმოადგენს საერთაშორისო ორგანიზაციას, რომელსაც მსოფლიოს 133 ქვეყანაში ჰყავს წევრი ორგანიზაცია ეროვნული ასოციაციების სახით.

ასოციაცია “საქართველოს SOS ბავშვთა სოფელი“ არის არასამეწარმეო არაკომერციული იურიდიული პირი, რომელსაც გააჩნია საკუთარი წესდება და ჰყავს გამგეობა. ჩვენი ასოციაცია მოქმედებს საერთაშორისო ორგანიზაციის წესდებისა და პრინციპების შესაბამისად.

ასოციაცია “საქართველოს SOS ბავშვთა სოფელი“ 1989 წლიდან ეწევა საქმიანობას საქართველოს ტერიტორიაზე. ორგანიზაციის მიზანია მიტოვების რისკის წინაშე მყოფ და მშობელთა მზრუნველობას მოკლებულ ბავშვთა უფლებების დაცვა, თემზე დაფუძნებული და ალტერნატიული მომსახურებების საშუალებით, სოციალურად დაუცველი ბავშვების დახმარება, მათი საზოგადოებაში ინტეგრაციისა და სოციალიზაციის მიზნით.

ყველა მიმართულება, რომელიც ხორციელდება საქართველოში ჩვენი ასოციაციის მიერ სხვადასხვა პროგრამისა თუ პროექტის სახით, სრულად პასუხობს გაეროს ბავშვის უფლებათა კონვენციის პრინციპებს და ბავშვთა კეთილდღეობის პოლიტიკას, რაც გახდა საფუძველი იმისა, რომ ჩვენი ორგანიზაცია მჭიდროდ თანამშრომლობს საქართველოს მთავრობასთან, სხვადასხვა საერთაშორისო თუ არასამთავრობო ორგანიზაციებთან, საზოგადოებრივ ინსტიტუტებთან და კერძო სექტორთან.

SOS Children's Villages Georgia has been founded in 1989 and is a member of SOS-Kinderdorf International, since 1998.
SOS Children's Villages Georgia takes action for children as an independent, non-governmental and non-denominational social development organization by providing support to children who have lost the security of being part of a caring family. 
Guiding by the best interests of the children, SOS Children’s Villages Georgia support the healthy development of children through enabling them to grow up in a caring family environment, either in an SOS family, or in the child’s family of origin. To make sure a self-reliant future of children, the organization supports vulnerable children and their families with programs to empower them through strengthening their coping skills, ensuring their access to essential services, and providing sustainable psycho-social, educational, and health support. Together with community partners, SOS Children’s Villages Georgia works to make the best use of available resources and devise new forms of family-based care. 

SOS Kinderdorf International is the umbrella organization for more than 130 affiliated national SOS Children's Village organizations worldwide and has a coordinative role supporting its member associations to reach common strategic objectives. It offers a platform for sharing of knowledge and capacities in order to improve the work of the members.
Furthermore, SOS Children's Villages International operates in the spirit of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, participatory status with the Council of Europe and is one of the 13 permanent NGO members of the EU Forum on Children’s Rights.
